Award Winning Style, Master Bath27 photos An award-winning design: A long & narrow master bathroom & closet gets a stylish, sophisticated upgrade from designer Rachel Peterson of Simply Baths, Inc. The former bathroom & closet combination was dark and cluttered, lacking in personality and in great need of a refresh. Combining the homeowner's vision and Peterson's creative expertise, Simply Baths transformed the bathroom into a soothing transitional space that is both wonderfully luxurious and perfectly restrained.
Award Winning At-Home Spa11 photos Inspired by an old-world look with a contemporary touch, these Connecticut homeowners decided to bring their large but inefficiently organized master bath to its full potential. With the help of Simply Baths owner, Barry Miller, the couple redesigned their cramped and outdated bath to maximize luxury, comfort and space.
The challenges the original space presented were a confining shower stall and a tub deck that took up more than one-third of the room. The homeowners also wanted to fit in two sinks without compromising vanity space. By installing a freestanding tub, we were able to enlarge the shower considerably and give it the roomy feel and mood-enhancing light that the old shower lacked. The new space easily accommodated a vanity with two vessel sinks, plenty of storage and a makeup counter. The marble mosaic floor tile and the tile adorning the wall add warmth and a simple elegance to the room.
In addition to the spacious and comfortable aesthetic, the homeowners now enjoy a spa-like setting with features such as a steam shower and heated flooring. The new bathroom uses space to its advantage, adding more comforts while creating a fresh, open atmosphere suitable for relaxation.

Award Winning Design, Master Bath15 photos Looking to infuse a bit of European modernity & beauty into their everyday lives, these homeowners wanted their redesigned master bath modeled after the ones found in European hotels. Calling on the design expertise of Barry Miller of Simply Baths, Inc. the couple effectively re-imagined & transformed its uninspired 80s facade into a luxurious retreat.
Since one of the greatest challenges of this remodel was the space's cramped quarters and outdated styling, Miller began the renovation job by taking out the existing tub platform that was taking up a third of the of the bathroom's layout. In addition, Miller added 6 feet in length to the bath by taking it from an unused dressing area between the bathroom and the master bedroom that had gone practically forgotten. This added room allowed the addition of a rain shower that comes out of overhead support and features a hand-held shower and stone pebble flooring. These touches, along with the new freestanding tub, gives the bath a spa-like feel, creating that refined escape the homeowners always desired. In addition to the curbless walk-through shower and soaking tub, the Kohler Persuade Curv toilet with washlet seat brings the bath into the modern age. Two individual wall-mounted vanities - both topped in Kashmir White granite - are finished with stainless steel sinks by Houzer and oversized mirrors with custom Holiday Kitchens frames. These elements add warmth, while the cool gray tones and the natural light from existing windows on each side of the shower complete the European escape aesthetic.

Organic Master Bath29 photos Tired of their outdated and chaotic master bath, this CT couple wanted to create a relaxing at-home spa with an enlarged steam shower, a soaking tub, and a soothing natural Zen aesthetic. Marble Master Bath in Oxford17 photos Attention to detail turned this bland master bathroom into an elegant retreat. From the mosaic marble accents, to the board and baton beadboard paneling, to the decorative arches on the cabinetry toe kick – no area of this space is ignored or cast aside. Designed by Rachel Peterson of Simply Baths, Inc., the bathroom is delicate and poised.
Man Cave Master Bath20 photos From the mis-matched cabinetry, to the floral wallpaper border, to the hot air balloon accent tiles, the former state of this master bathroom held no relationship to its laid-back bachelor owner. Inspired by his travels, his stays at luxury hotel suites and longing for zen appeal, the homeowner called in designer Rachel Peterson of Simply Baths, Inc. to help him overhaul the room. Removing walls to open up the space and adding a calming neutral grey palette left the space uninterrupted, modern and fresh. To make better use of this 9x9 bathroom, the walk-in shower and Japanese soaking tub share the same space & create the perfect opportunity for a textured, tiled accent wall. Meanwhile, the custom concrete sink offers just the right amount of industrial edge. The end result is a better compliment to the homeowner and his lifestyle & gives the term "man cave" a whole new meaning.
Traditional in Travertine Master Bath10 photos Mediterranean style is a beautiful blend of ornate detailing and rough organic stone work. It's worn and rustic while still being sumptuous and refined. The details of this bathroom remodel combine all the right elements to create a comfortable and gorgeous space. Tumbled stone mixed with scrolling cabinet details, oil-rubbed bronze mixed with the glazed cabinet finish and mottled granite in varying shades of brown are expertly mingled to create a bathroom that's truly a place to get away from the troubles of the day.
Honey Onyx Master Bath9 photos Growing tired of their home's generic finishes, these Connecticut homeowners first worked with Simply Baths & Showcase Kitchens on their kitchen remodel and home addition. Upon completing the kitchen, they realized that they wanted to bring the same high-style to their master bathroom.
The design team at Simply Baths, Inc. worked with the homeowners to incorporate features as fashionable as they are functional. With the original square footage and a similar layout, the new design altered the existing tub deck to accommodate a larger, frameless shower with shower seat. For a sleek, spa-like look, they chose Kohler's water tiles to insert in the shower tile. The new hydrotherapy tub has a heater to keep the water warm. The master bathroom also features a brown onyx tub deck and countertops, marble vessel sinks, marble mirrors, and a make-up bench. The cathedral ceiling and skylight add a light, airy atmosphere to the room. By making the most of the existing space, the homeowners now have a relaxing retreat they love.
Lines & Style, Master Bathroom18 photos The priorities for this master bath remodel included an increased shower area, room for a dresser/clothes storage & the introduction of some sustainable materials. Designer Rachel Peterson of Simply Baths, Inc. set out to deliver everything on the homeowner's wishlist and seriously ramp-up the style of this CT master bath. A custom built-in was created to house all of the husband’s clothes and was tucked neatly into the space formerly occupied by the shower. A local fabricator created countertops using concrete and recycled glass. The big, boxy tub, a floor model bought at an extreme discount, is the focal point of the room. Many of the other lines in the room echo its geometric and modern clean lines. The end result is a crisp, clean aesthetic that feels spacious and is filled with light.
Chic & Girly, Guest Bathroom10 photos A combination of tumbled and polished marble creates a sophisticated bathroom that simply oozes with refinement and beauty. No detail goes unnoticed, down to the crystal knobs and fluted accents on the cabinetry. The finishing touches are put on the room with classically embellished, polished plumbing fixtures and fluted glass shades on the lighting. It all adds up to a elegant room with the perfect amount of girly frill.
Five Star Style, Master Bath6 photos After 20 years in their home, this Redding, CT couple was anxious to exchange their tired, 80s-styled master bath for an elegant retreat boasting a myriad of modern conveniences. Because they were less than fond of the existing space-one that featured a white color palette complemented by a red tile border surrounding the tub and shower-the couple desired radical transformation. Inspired by a recent stay at a luxury hotel & armed with photos of the spa-like bathroom they enjoyed there, they called upon the design expertise & experience of Barry Miller of Simply Baths, Inc. Miller immediately set about imbuing the room with transitional styling, topping the floor, tub deck and shower with a mosaic Honey Onyx border. Honey Onyx vessel sinks and Ubatuba granite complete the embellished decor, while a skylight floods the space with natural light and a warm aesthetic. A large Whirlpool tub invites the couple to relax and unwind, and the inset LCD TV serves up a dose of entertainment. When time doesn't allow for an indulgent soak, a two-person shower with eight body jets is equally luxurious.
The bathroom also features ample storage, complete with three closets, three medicine cabinets, and various display niches. Now these homeowners are delighted when they set foot into their newly transformed five-star master bathroom retreat.
Modern, Open-Concept Master15 photos This Connecticut couple's bathroom had adequate but poorly utilized space. Outdated ceramic tiles, a lack of storage and a shared sink was inconvenient and less than aesthetically appealing. So Barry Miller of Simply Baths, Inc. worked with the homeowners to create a new and improved master bathroom.
The first step: demolishing the 56 sq. foot master closet and adding that space to the bathroom. To replace this storage, the old sitting room was transformed into a 250 square foot walk-in master closet. The newly enlarged bath now features a large two-person, barrier-free walk-in shower with a natural pebble mosaic floor. The sandy-beige floor-to-ceiling porcelain tile that accents the shower and continues throughout most of the bathroom adds earth tones while the blue glass mosaic wall behind the freestanding soaking tub adds spa style. Both the shower and the tub are enhanced by natural light from a nearby window, which also offers views of the peaceful New England countryside.
The two wall-hanging vanities have a simple, clean design while offering plenty of storage space, and the two vessel sinks add a touch of elegance. The renovated space is contemporary and luxurious - the perfect combination of natural elements in a spa-like setting.
